The past month has been rather social, not perhaps in the party way, but in boosting business by exhibiting, networking and press coverage. These events are not as daunting as you may think and I really enjoy interacting with a wide range of businesses and learning from their successes.

A particular favourite was the Blue Banana Brainstorm lunch with Annah Stretton in the Euro private dining room. A select group organised by Linda Coles, who come together over a delightful lunch to learn from a speaker ‘How they grew it’, to network and share experiences.

The Auckland Tourism Group run The Effective Network, bringing together over 100 local business people to network. This meeting was at The Riverhead Tavern and discussed the pros and cons of discounting services and products while enjoying the fabulous view, wine and nibbles.

Earlier in the month Outbox exhibited at the Venus Womens Expo in Takapuna, an extremely busy evening with a constant stream of visitors to the stand. I hope this was due to our services but it could have equally attributed to the view of the recently auctioned ‘Block Houses’ out of the window!

The National Business Review wrote about the Virtual Professional industry raising the awareness around New Zealand of the benefits that outsourcing can bring especially to small and medium sized companies. Another article in the North Shore Times highlighted the award Outbox won last month and this led to a number of calls from readers wishing to know more about our services.

During October I shall be at the MyBiz Expo and the Ladies Who Lunch Seriously mini expo and showcase.

There are certainly many opportunities around to promote your company, visit our Pinterest board for more ideas; we hope to see you at one of them soon.
